Many people have heard of Clipper Magazine, a subsidiary of the Gannet Co Inc. (GCI: NYSE) which offers a local coupon magazine direct mailed to homes in over 500 markets nationwide. However, what is lesser known is Clipper Magazine’s Total Loyalty Solutions division, which operates interrelated services under the “Clipper” umbrella. These businesses include: Loyal Customer Club (email marketing) The Menu Company (restaurant menu design), and Spencer Advertising, a full-service advertising agency that serves a mix of local, regional and national clients. Preferred Loyalty Solutions
Preferred Loyalty Solutions (PLS), headquartered in Oak Grove, Minnesota, specializes in coalition marketing to help schools and sports boosters raise money inside their local community. Preferred Loyalty Solutions has used AmeriCardGold’s coalition marketing technology to convert a decades old discount card fundraising model used throughout the country and modernize it on steroids. Each coalition comprises 10-30 local merchants, depending on size of the organization and expected card distribution. Cards are preloaded with rewards currency at each participating merchant ($5 to $10 for example) to encourage consumer visits throughout the local directory. Cardholders earn rewards after every sale which also triggers donations back to the cardholder’s charitable organization. PLS has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for their local non-profit organizations and pocketed equivalent levels of administrative fees in the process on top of sponsorship revenue and card sales.

The Get Healthy Rewards program is a prime example of coalition marketing in action involving a myriad of different businesses throughout the state that can accept the card and process transactions. Family Bundles
AmeriCardGold designed and built the front end Internet and Verifone credit card interfaces in addition to the back-end administrative and reporting web server infrastructure that runs the Family Bundles loyalty program. Based in the Seattle, WA area, Family Bundles is a unique loyalty program that rewards cardholders with credits for shopping anywhere inside the vast network of independent businesses inside a pooled coalition network. The concept originated out of a plan to help small businesses fight back against the "Big Box Stores" taking over the retail landscape.
